Terms of use

Last updated: 6 August 2026

By using The Tools Whale, you agree to these terms. They are short because the service is simple: free tools that run in your browser.

The service

The Tools Whale provides file tools that run entirely in your web browser: redaction, conversion, compression, upscaling, text extraction and similar. The tools are free to use, without accounts, watermarks or usage caps. Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us; see the privacy policy for details.

Your files and your responsibility

Acceptable use

Do not use the site for anything unlawful, and do not attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse the hosting infrastructure that serves the site. Since processing runs on your own device, what you do with your own files locally is your own business.

Open-source components

The tools are powered by open-source models and libraries, each under its own licence. Attribution and licence details are on the credits page.

Intellectual property

The site’s own pages, design and text belong to us or our licensors. The open-source components remain under their respective licences. Your files remain yours.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output, including detection, redaction, transcription or conversion results, will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including damage resulting from relying on tool output without verifying it. The service is free; you use it at your own risk.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
